Educational trail of four villages in the Subtatian Mountains

Batizovce - Gerlachov - Mengusovce - Štôla

In the region below the Tatra Mountains there is a nice sightseeing tourist trail between the villages of Batizovce, Gerlachov, Mengusovce and Štôla, with several viewpoints of the Tatra mountains. It will take you along marked trails in the vicinity of artificial lakes, thanks to which you will discover beautiful quiet new places under the Tatras. 

The trail is aimed at nature conservation. There are four comprehensive information and resting points, information boards along the trail, with seating, a bicycle rack, and a trash receptacle at each. The cycle paths of this nature trail are connected to the network of cycle paths under the Tatras, which you can get to know in a very practical way through the Mapy.cz application with cyclo-navigation.

Recommended circuit for cyclists and hikers, starting at the Hubert Hotel in Gerlachov (or you can choose another starting point within the circuit).

- at the Hubert Hotel you can use the spacious parking lot. You can also visit the Zverofarma, which is managed by the hotel, and have a coffee or a snack in the hotel lobby.

- from the Hubert Hotel, follow the signs or use the Mapy.cz app with a map of the route, which we recommend

- The route will take you through dense forests through Batizovce to the gravel lakes, all the way to the village of Štôla.

- For those who want to see more, we recommend to take the marked trails to Gerlachov or Mengusovce

- in Štôle you can relax at the Military Cemetery or arrange a meeting with Mr. Kocián in his glass workshop and he will show you his craft

- from Štôla you will return to the original route and you will climb back to the Hubert Hotel
