Project Objective: The intention of the project is capacity building and better coordination of planned activities through cooperation with other actors not only within its region but also with neighbouring regions in the field of cycling and cycling tourism with the main emphasis on long-distance cycling routes, primarily the EuroVelo 11 route.
Specific objective of the project:
Ensure coordinated preparation of conceptual documents and technical documentation for selected sections of long-distance cycling routes.
Improve the skills of local stakeholders in the planning and implementation of cycle routes through the implementation of two technical workshops.
Increase public awareness of the possibilities of cycling and cycling tourism in the target regions through the presentation of the implemented activities, e.g. promotional bike ride along the "future" EuroVelo 11 route in the Košice and Prešov regions.
Planned project activities:
Project management and publicity, overall project management, coordination of partners' activities, ensuring project publicity.
Preparation of conceptual documents, elaboration of the concept of long-distance cycling routes in the territory of the Košice Region, including a schematic map of long-distance cycling routes in the Region and surrounding regions.
Mapping and design of long-distance cycling routes on the territory of Transcarpathian region of Ukraine with connection to Slovakia and other regions of Ukraine - conceptual document
Preparation of technical documentation for selected sections of cycle routes, identification of sections of proposed cycle routes and preparation of technical documentation for selected sections of long-distance cycle routes (EuroVelo 11 and Zemplín cycle route) in the territory of KSK and PSK.
Capacity building of local actors and transfer of experience (organisation of technical seminars).
Raising awareness of cycling and cycling tourism opportunities in the target regions.

| Objectives of the project | The objective of the project is to improve of cross-border cooperation in the planning and implementation of cycling routes in all three regions (Presov region, Kosice region and Transcarpathia). Well designed and well implemented cycling network will not only contribute to a better use of cross-border and international tourism potential, but also enable local people to use the bicycle as a means of transport belonging to everyday life. |
| Outcomes of the project | The project will develop/deepen partnerships at horizontal and vertical level, which persist even after the project completion: Among the self-governing regions and local authorities - better coordination of activities at local and regional level. In the field of cross-border cooperation among the stakeholders on both sides of the border - better coordination of activities between neighbouring regions. |
