PREŠOV (19 December 2014) - Bardejov Spa has its oxygen track again after forty years. It is intended not only for spa guests, anyone can exercise.
Health, exercise, nature, relaxation - all in one place. A unique oxygen track has been reconstructed in the surroundings of Bardejov Spa. It has been 40 years since the last mention of its reconstruction. Until autumn this year, a large part of the wooden attractions had been devalued. Thanks to KOCR North-East of Slovakia and OOCR Šariš - Bardejov, rest areas, wooden attractions, information boards, benches, baskets, etc. were built and reconstructed.
The one-kilometre-long oxygen track has fourteen stations where relaxation and movement exercises are prepared.
Combining the old with the new
In the forests, where the famous Sissy apparently once walked (she spent three weeks in the spa in 1895), anyone can exercise today - locals, tourists, spa guests.
On Friday, December 19, the oxygen track was inaugurated. As the director of OOCR Šariš - Bardejov Radomír Jančošek noted, the tables motivating to exercise have kept their original character. "They are written in a unique style, the whole project is a combination of the original form and contemporary reconstruction," Jančošek presented the intention.
The mayor of Bardejov Boris Hanuščák is also happy about the oxygen track: "It's great news that we have a new attraction in our town and spa that has great potential."
Revitalises body and spirit
The forest oxygen track in the surroundings of Bardejov Spa occupies a special place in the health-rehabilitation trails. It combines healthy air, walks, staying in nature and therapeutic procedures. The KOCR North-East of Slovakia has ensured the reconstruction of the oxygen track and the completion of individual facilities that allow relaxation and recovery stays and exercises in accordance with the indications that are treated in Bardejovské Spa. The forest oxygen track can be visited by anyone at any time.
Habitats motivate to move
"The oxygen track combines a pleasant walk with exercise, which can be rehabilitative or strengthening. Exercises are alternated, targeting different parts of the body and varying in difficulty. We are pleased that the location has gained another plus for locals, tourists and spa guests alike," said Martin Janoško, director of KOCR North-East of Slovakia.
The work on the construction of the oxygen track took place from October to the end of November. The total amount of funds that went to the reconstruction of the oxygen track is € 10 000. The company carrying out the reconstruction of the runway was selected on the basis of a public tender.
