The Prešov Self-Governing Region (PSK) has prepared a novelty for cyclists - transporting bicycles by means of cycle buses. They operate in five attractive tourist locations of the Prešov region - Slanské vrchy, Čergov, Pieniny, Domaša and Poloniny. The cyclobuses will hit the roads from 1 July 2023, with operation on weekends and holidays until 31 August.
Selected cyclobuses have bicycle carriers for six bicycles, additional capacity can be expanded through other spaces in the buses. Price for transporting one bicycle is identical to luggage transport, i.e. EUR 1.50 up to 50 km or EUR 3 up to 200 km.
Cycle buses operate on Saturdays and Sundays on the routes:
1. Prešov - Zlatá Baňa

Loading and unloading of bicycles transported by bicycle carriers on buses (without additional equipment) is allowed only at specified times on selected lines, routes and stops. It is ensured by the passenger with an authorised employee of the carriers involved in the project - SAD Prešov, Bus Karpaty and SAD Humenné, who also secures the bicycle against theft by locking it. The passenger will be issued a carabiner with the position number of the bicycle, which will also serve for verification when unloading the bicycle.
