It is a well-known fact that Slovakia hides many beauties. However, for photographer Ján Štovka, who has won many worldwide awards, the most photogenic is the Prešov region. Mysterious Poloniny
Territory Poloniny are covered with original beech-fir forests, which in places go up to forests (registered with UNESCO). In the Poloniny you can enjoy e.g. climb the triple border [trip:4011;Kremenec] or pass also less demanding hikes with the whole family. An excellent tip is [trip:8145;Meadow of Honey Baby] (on the route from Nová Sedlica towards Riaba skala).
On the large meadow there is a monumental statue of a woman - Honey Baby. The statue is 7 metres high and depicts Žofia Matašovská, a bee-keeper whose honey was taken as far away as Kolín. Manor house and open-air museum in Humenne
The Renaissance manor house guarded by two bronze lions was built by the influential Drugeth family. Today the manor house is used by the Vihorlat Museum. The exposition is oriented on the residential culture of the nobility from the Renaissance to the 20th century, sacral art and fauna of Zemplín. There is a park next to the manor house and behind it Wonderful open-air museum of the Vihorlat Museum with an exposition of folk architecture. You will also get a competition sticker and a Legendarium comic.
Red Monastery, Pieniny
Under the Pieniny Mountains, in the shadow of the Three Crowns, stands a picturesque Carthusian monastery. Once upon a time, the monk Cyprian lived there. The wise monk devoted himself to healing and, according to legend, flew down from the Three Crowns in the Pieniny Mountains on his self-made wings. You can see the famous herbarium and the places where he lived on a trip to Červený Kláštor and the Pieniny Mountains. Don't forget to taste the healing water from Smerdžonka!

Vyšné Ružbachy
Vyšné Ružbachy on the border of Pieniny and Spišská Magura are especially famous for their baths and travertine lakes. Relax in the spa or take advantage of the outdoor thermal swimming pool and other services offered by the Vyšné Ružbachy Spa. During your visit, you will also be attracted by a significant monument White House. It was built of white travertine in 1931. The crater that Is a unique source of of its kind not only in Slovakia, but also worldwide. Ľubovňa Castle
The castle from the turn of the 13th and 14th century became famous especially the meetings of the crowned heads, the hiding of the Polish crown jewels and the imprisonment of Mórc Beňovský (later King of Madagascar). Today lives the castle events and colourful expositions. It is the most visited castle in the Prešov region. In summer 2019, the castle theme is dedicated to women. Slovak opal mines
Slovak opal mines are the oldest in the world and the only one on our continentThere are approximately 30 km of underground mine tunnels and 17 horizons, five of which are flooded. There are 1,280 metres open to the public.The tour is accompanied by an engaging interpretation, which takes the visitor into the world of miners and mysterious underground creatures.The mines are located between the villages of Červenica and Zlatá Baňa.When you visit them, do not forget to ask for a a sticker of the opal fairy of Lebanon to the Legendarium comic.
Brekov Castle
The medieval castle near the town of Humenné was built as a guard castle in the 13th century. Nowadays, thanks to the restoration, it is growing into beauty again. A small castle museum informs about the history of the castle and offers various souvenirs. Here you can also pick up a comic book and a sticker that is connected with the story of the soldier Svejk.
Manor house and archaeological park in Hanušovce nad Topľou
One of the most beautiful Baroque manor houses in the Prešov region with its four towers is still a dominant feature of Hanušovce nad Topľou. Inside it hides examples of historical furniture, expositions dedicated to animals, mushrooms and the oldest history. Next to the manor house is an archaeological park.
The area of the archaeopark with seven dwellings represents life from prehistoric times to the early Middle Ages. Here you can also get Legendarium competition stickers, which are linked to the local legend of the knight Johannes. Read more
Kežmarok Castle
The majestic city castle will attract attention with several exhibitions, including the exhibition historic wagons, firefighting equipment and weapons. You can also look into Faminewhich recalls the fate of the castle mistress Beata Laská, who was once imprisoned there by her husband for going on a trip to the Tatras without his permission. The castle is associated with the legend of the knocker who now haunts the castle as the Black Lady. For visiting the castle you will get her sticker. Skanzen (Museum of Ukrainian Culture) in Svidník
The museum of Ukrainian culture in Svidník is an experience for all ages. On an area of up to 11 hectares located 50 objects of folk architecture, thatched cottages, a mill, a tavern or a wooden church.
